Make Room for the Holidays
I cannot believe the season has already begun. Here is a small taste of how we have been preparing for the holidays. This was our first Thanksgiving in Florida. We made the most of it and made all of our family favorites. It was good for Tyler too. He got to help, which he loves. All that yummy food. We ate it until it was all gone.
We visited Santa and Tyler made a pal. One of the cars Tyler has been wanting for months is the #17 Matt Kinseth Dewalt car. When Santa asked Tyler what he wanted for Christmas, Tyler said, "the number 17 Nascar." (In a voice like the red rider gun on Christmas Story). Santa replied with, "I know that car, Matt Kinseth is the driver." "I have met hm before." It took a while for Tyler to come down. So one of the pictures I am sharing is the conversation with Santa and the smiling pose after talking with him.
One of our favorite places to go eat is PF Changs. Tyler requests it by name every time we are out at the Town Center. We were picking up some family gifts and enjoyed our favorite dinner afterwards. Tyler has been all about Daddy lately and they had their photo shoot together.
Tyler and I decided to make the best of our beautiful weather here in Florida. No cold season here. Why not be festive at the beach. We had so much fun playing Santa and playing in the sand. Merry Christmas. You will all receive a taste of this in our card coming soon to a mail box near you. We love you! The Friday Fam

Our Lil' Racer
On December 8, Tyler turned 4 years old. I cannot believe he is already four. He amazes me more every day. Tyler is very big into Nascar and even knows driver's names. I found it only fit to plan a Nascar birthday party for him and his friends.
The party was on Sunday, December 9th. We made it a surprise for him. It was so hard to keep it quiet. As soon as a man came around the corner in his big red truck, my excitement began to show. Brian finished eating lunch and left us at the table to see if he could assist with any setting up of the track. As soon as Tyler saw black and white checkered, his questions started up. I told him that he could look out the window and watch to see what the man was doing. AS soon as the track was snapped into place, Tyler ran out the door yelling "Nascar track!"
We got to drive the Nascar slot cars while we waited for the guest to arrive. As soon as the kids were able to run past their mom, they were grabbing a controller to race. Four kids could race at a time and were giving prizes for winning. Needless to say, it was a hit.
Happy Birthday Tyler! We love you!

School Days!
Tyler started school, Crossroads Christian Academy, on September 3. We both love waking up each morning having breakfast together and getting ready for school. (In case some of you aren't aware, we are homeschooling this year.) We named our school Crossroads for Tyler's love of trains. We picked the yellow railraod crossing sign as our logo. Tyler even acts like someone is dropping him off at school. He peeks in our school room and grins running into my arms saying, "Good morning Mrs. Friday!"
We have circle time, which we pray, sing songs and begin reading our weekly bible story. We have lots of educational lessons and activities then break for other activities such as Play Espanol on Mondays, PE at one the Jax Parks on Tuesdays, Library on Wednesdays, Zoo classes at the Jax Zoo on Thursday, and Field trips with a homeschool group on Fridays. We have so much fun together. It is truely a blessing to be at home with Tyler and to have the priviledge to teach him God's word.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. The pool party was a "Welcome Back" party for our Unfailing Homeschooler's group. The children had so much fun meeting one another and also playing. I have also included pictures of our school room and our visits to Zoo class. Tyler has gotten to pet snakes, chinchillas, bearded dragons, alligators (small, of course) and many more animals. After each class we do Tyler's favorite attraction at the zoo- ride the train. Choo-Choo!

Tyler's First Soccer Game!!!
Tyler's first soccer game was on September 8. Since Brian is the coach, we are were up, ready and pumped up! Go hawkeyes! Tyler really had a great time. This sport is so good for him because he stays active the entire time. He kept running with the rest. Each time he kicked the ball, he ran off the feild and said, "Momma, I did it!" We are so proud. We have a lot more games to come. Here are some of the pictures from the first game.

Tyler Singing
One evening last year I heard Tyler singing in my bedroom. I grabbed my camera and snuck in to hear him and record his song. To my surprise, he was singing Jesus Loves Me. I did not even know he knew this song. Even though he did not know all of the words, it was the most beautiful song I ever heard. Hearing my child sing this wonderful song once again reminded me just how much we are loved by Him. I hope you enjoy this as much as I have.

Go Hawkeyes!
This year Tyler is going to play Upward Soccer at our church. He had to go to soccer evaluations on August 8, to test his skill level on the field. He was graded the second highest on his team. He is so excited about playing this year and even better, they have asked Brian to coach is team. So this Friday, August 31, our 5 year anniversary, we have our first soccer practice.
Tyler is so excited about playing and ask me if God will be on his team. Of course, I said yes and that God will always be on your team. God is good isn't He? He reminds me constantly that He loves us through Tyler's childlike faith and for me to have more. I think that this sport will really help Tyler's eye coordination. He has been practicing and plays the sport well. His first game is September 8, my big sis birthday. I love you Net!
Go Hawkeyes! I will send more pictures soon.

Our Kids...Capturing some special moments together
Here are our pride and joy...our kids, Laurin (16), Lexi (10), and Tyler (3). Here are some pictures we captured during Laurin and Lexi's visits to Florida this year. We always have so much fun together, whether it's watching movies, playing games, catching fireflies, camping out in the back yard, swimming or spending a day at the beach. We think life is good. Brian and I are very blessed to have these precious children in our lives.
Spring Break Trip to Sea World
During Spring Break this year, we took the kids to Orlando to visit Sea World. We all have never been, but always wanted to go. Since we only live a couple of hours away, we decided to go. We had so much fun. The shows and seeing all the animals was so much fun. All Tyler talked about was wanting to ride the roller coaster (fearless), and that was the only thing we did not do that day.

National Sandcastle Day
On Friday, August 17, we celebrated National Sandcastle Day at the beach. Three of my friends and their children met for a pancake breakfast at the Friday home, packed up our favorite sand toys and then headed for a day of fun at the beach.
We had a sandcastle building contest (where the girls won) and we played in the sand and surf until early afternoon. We had a lot of fun! I posted some pictures to share. Enjoy.

Trip to Birmingham
We traveled to Birmingham in August to visit my new nephew, Brayden Joseph Davis, and my sister's family. We had the priviledge to watch Benjamin, my other nephew, while Allan, Annette and baby Brayden were in the hospital.
We had lots of fun together including visiting the baby everyday, played at the park, read stories, visited with my closest friends, including Dena, Krista. We also had an exciting opportunity to visit with my girls at the Hayden Community Pep Rally where Laurin danced during the show. She is the co-captain of the Hayden Dance Line. We then got to sit by Nana and Papa (Brian's mom and dad) while watching which was filled with music, cheers and fireworks too. It was a BLAST!
We were very sad we had to leave, but we sure did enjoy our visit to Birmingham. Thanks friends and family for making it wonderful for us!

Pirate Party
On Saturday, August 25, we hosted an End of Summer- Pirate Pool Party at our house. We invited some of mine and Tyler's friends to this exciting celebration. These are people that we have spent the summer with at the beach and playdates.
The children were mailed a cool pirate party invite providing them with the longitude/latitude of Dover Cove (our house). As the guests arrive, each received a pirate hat and were lead to the pool where blow-up swords were kept and the fun began. While the children swam, the women chatted and the men grilled. After dinner, we went to the front to eat of the Pirate cake and play some games including a treasure hunt and hit the pinata. We had barrels of laughs as the evening drew near.
We all said our good-byes for the evening and to another wonderful season. Happy Summer!
